The wind farm is designed to produce sufficient electricity equivalent to the average annual demand of around 17,000 households. This is the equivalent to approximately 30% of the households in the Scottish Borders.

Planning Application Submitted for Penmanshiel Wind Farm - 28 October 2011
RES has submitted a planning application for Penmanshiel Wind Farm, near Grantshouse in the Scottish Borders. The proposal is for 15 turbines, each with a maximum height of 100m to the tip of the blade. The planning application with supporting documents including the Environmental Statement (ES) and Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) Report has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council.

21 April - Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) approved by Scottish Borders Council
Scottish Borders Council have approved the Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) for Penmanshiel Wind Farm. This document sets out how we will consult with the local community on our plans for the wind farm. Scottish Borders Council have requested that RES advertise the public exhibitions for the wind farm in the East Lothian Courier as well as the Berwickshire News. You can download a copy of the PAN from the Consultation section of the website.
15 April - Public Exhibition Dates Announced
We will be holding a series of public exhibitions on the following dates:
- Thursday 26 May, 10am-1pm and 3-8pm: Grantshouse Village Hall
- Friday 27 May, 3pm-8pm: Coldingham Village Hall
- Saturday 28 May, 11am-4pm: Cockburnspath Village Hall
